CAD DRAFTER - Ocala, FL
GENERAL SUMMARY The CAD Drafter assists Associate Engineers and Engineers in developing product designs, prototype designs and modifications to existing product or equipment. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) 1. Assist Designers/Associate Engineers/Engineers and other departments, vendors and/or customers with general problem solving. 2. Read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) and flow process drawings. 3. Design assemblies and parts; design component placement and pipe layout. 4. Create, design and revise layouts, schematics, details, and assembly drawings from mark-ups. 5. Create Bill of Materials. 6. Create and manage drawing identification numbers and drawing files in database. 7. Train Engineering personnel using AutoCAD and Inventor. 8. Perform archiving and releasing of drawings (per Drafting Manual) if assigned. 9. Perform tasks required by Drafting Supervisor and/or Engineering Manager. SKILLS • Ability to perform low level calculations with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. • Be proficient with computers and MS Office software. • Ability to create technical drawings, using accepted drafting practices with standard conventional layouts and view projection, which clearly communicate all needed specifications. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization. • Geometric Dimentioning and tolerance training preferable • Minimum 6 months practical experience with AutoCAD 2000 or newer version • Prefered 6 months practical expereince with Inventor 2010 COMPETENCIES Adaptability Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures.
