REPORTS TO:Pharmacy Manager POSITION SUMMARY: Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the duties below. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Currently licensed and in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy. 3. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. 4. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. 5. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. 6. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 7. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, solutions strengths, concentrations, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. 8. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. 9. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or Medical Advisory Board. 10. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. 11. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis. 12. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 13. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 14. Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills. 15. Must possess exceptional communication and customer service skills with patients, family members and other staff members. 16. Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge and be able to adapt to the various pharmacy programs that may be instituted. 17. Ability to follow compounding logs and compound with sterile technique. 18. Be able to meet the physical demands listed below. 19. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must be able to function with these conditions. 20. Professional telephone etiquette skills required. 21. Current valid driver’s license. 22. Proof of automobile insurance. 23. Current CPR certification 24. Possession of Pharm. D, MS or MBA Degree preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
